I wrote that I’d like to update more on this site, and for now I’m taking the easy way out and writing about something you probably don’t care about: Who I think is going to win the football games today! Sports predictions have been the choice of lazy bloggers for centuries. Come on, nobody reads blogs on weekends anyway.
Though I didn’t post about it, I had the Seahwawks (+10) and Jets (+3) yesterday in my family’s annual pool, for real. (My dad can confirm if you’re a reporter looking to investigate.) Yes, I picked the Seahawks — who won, as you can tell from Drew Brees’ expression above — though I liked them a lot more +10 then I did straight up.
Ravens at Chiefs (+3)
The Chiefs went 5-2 down the stretch but beat only Arizona, Seattle, Denver, St. Louis and Tennessee. Only Seattle (on the road) is notable. As Football Outsiders notes, the Chiefs haven’t played well in the second half. Baltimore by a touchdown or two. Ravens 29, Chiefs 17.
Packers at Eagles (-2½)
As Meech noted, the Eagles lead the league in pregame tweets. As I immediately made up, the team with more pregame tweets is 158-100 ATS this year. Everyone is incredibly negative on the Eagles today — of Sports Illustrated’s NFL experts, only Jerome Bettis picked the Eagles — but I don’t see it. I like the Eagles by two scores. Eagles 34, Packers 20.
