Further proof that New Yorker ads are basically infomercials for the literary set.

The above is totally true. Incidentally, I highly encourage everyone to watch TV infomercials. They are amazing. A girlfriend and I once came home and watched the infomercial for the Shark Steam Mop. I do not remember why — it was 2 a.m., etc. — but it was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. The Shark Steam Mop infomercial is up there with the baseball scene in Naked Gun and the scene where Buddy bats while facing the other way in the Air Bud baseball movie as the hardest I’ve ever laughed at something on screen. And if you happen to get the Atlantic City independent channel WMCN-TV, all the wonders of the world are on that station at 2 a.m.
I hope to one day own a Big Ass Fan.
